We will then have an in-depth consultation where we work to choose the perfect style that complements your unique features and preferences.

As part of the service, you will also enjoy a relaxing hair wash using Rugers signature shampoo and conditioner in the comfortable, massaging backwash chair. This is typically done at some point during your appointment to ensure your hair is clean and refreshed before we style it using Rugers amazing range of styling products.

Meet Matt

Hi, I'm Matt, and I'm absolutely thrilled to introduce my latest venture - Brown’s Barbers! It's been a dream of mine to open my own shop, and I'm excited to bring my passion for Barbering to my hometown of Honiton.

 

Having worked in retail for over a decade, I made the decision to switch careers in 2018 and become a barber - a profession that I believed was better aligned with my unique personality and skill set.

 

Following my decision to become a barber, I underwent training at the prestigious Sid Sottung Academy. With my newly acquired skills, I was fortunate enough to secure a position at the renowned Loft Barbers in Exeter, where I had the privilege of honing my craft under the guidance of some of the most talented professionals in the industry for over 4 years. 

 

Now, I'm excited to take that expertise and bring it back to my home town Honiton, where I grew up and have always dreamed of opening my own shop.

I am excited to be working with Matt at Brown’s Barbers. Without realising it I identified my career as a barber very young, being fascinated by the work of my family hairdresser and wanted to have a go myself (the family were less keen).

I developed my barbering skills with Master Barber Mike Taylor and his superb team at the Great British Barbering Academy where I learned the full range of cutting, styling and shaving skills that I am now using in the barber shop.

Having completed my A-Levels I started work in the hospitality industry where I developed my desire to give everyone I met a great customer experience - something I seek to do with everyone coming to Brown’s barbers for a haircut or shave.

Outside the salon, I play rugby for a local team, regularly go to the gym and share time & fun with friends and family.
